Life-threatening emergency? Call 999 Not sure? Call 111 or 111.nhs.uk

Terms of use

The short version: WhichAE is a rough guide, not medical advice. In an emergency, call 999.

About WhichAE

WhichAE is run by Miinted Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17022231). Registered office: 27 Old Gloucester Street, London, WC1N 3AX. It is an independent website. It is not part of the NHS, and no hospital or NHS organisation has checked or endorsed it. Contact: hello@whichae.co.uk.

Not medical advice

Nothing on WhichAE is medical advice, and it can’t tell you how urgent your problem is or where you should be treated. A&E sees the sickest people first, so your wait may be very different from the figures shown. If you feel worse while you wait, tell a member of hospital staff straight away. In an emergency, call 999. If you’re not sure what to do, call NHS 111.

The figures

Live figures come from people who choose to check in, so there may be few of them, and they can be out of date or wrong. NHS figures are monthly and are for a whole NHS trust, which may run more than one A&E. We do our best to keep everything accurate but can’t promise it is.

Using WhichAE fairly

Please only check in when you, or the person you’re with, are actually waiting at that A&E, and tap the buttons honestly. Don’t submit made-up reports or try to overload or interfere with the website. We may ignore or remove reports that look false.

Availability

WhichAE is free. We may change it, pause it or stop it at any time. We may show adverts to cover running costs.

Our responsibility to you

We are not responsible for decisions you make based on WhichAE, or for any loss caused by the website being unavailable or wrong, to the extent the law allows. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit.

The law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
